Once upon a time and not too long ago, I sold all of my worldly possessions, even that prized and completely paid for automobile. I retained only my laptop, which helps to corral my technically inclined creativity (sanity??), a digital camera for capturing the essence of the cultures I was eager to be enveloped by, and the limited contents of my pack to enable me to end up anywhere and be just fine. |

Everyone tends to be curious as to why someone chooses the road less traveled rather than the path that the majority follows. They look for some significant event in the person's life, an obvious reason for their "differentness," or a factor that designated them as more fortunate from birth, laying more favorable opportunities or alternatives before them that aren't offered to others. Yet, we're all basically the same, starting from the same place, and given very similar choices. Some of us have to take different steps along the way, but we can all get to the same destination in the end. That is, whichever destination we choose for ourselves. |
